From Chalkboards to Couture: Shipra Narang Turned Her Love for Timeless Indian Wear into Naseebo

January 13, 2025

Some journeys start in unexpected places. For Shipra Narang, the seeds of entrepreneurship were sown in a classroom, where she spent years teaching commerce and inspiring young minds with business case studies. Inspired by her father, this teacher’s heart often wandered to the vibrant world of Indian textiles. Years later, that quiet fascination turned into a clothing label bringing stunning and timeless Indian ethnic wear.

What Inspired Shipra Narang to turn towards entrepreneurship

Born and raised in Delhi, Shipra Narang spent over two decades teaching commerce students. As she was inspiring young minds with real-world business scenarios and case studies, little did she know that it would someday become the cornerstone of her own entrepreneurial journey.

Shipra’s journey from educator to entrepreneur was inspired by her deep-rooted love for Indian heritage and a desire to preserve its textile traditions. Influenced by her father’s work with fabrics, dyes and block prints, she developed a lifelong passion for craftsmanship and culture.

After dedicating 21 years to teaching, Shipra decided to take a leap of faith towards turning her passion into purpose. Encouraged by her husband’s unwavering support, she founded NASEEBO in 2024, a clothing label that celebrates the elegance of Indian fashion.

What all Naseebo Offers

Naseebo’s products range from timeless elegant block-print suits, three piece suit sets, Anarkalis, kurta pant sets, and co-ord sets in vibrant prints and versatile designs. She majorly works with high-quality linen and organic cotton fabrics.

Naseebo’s collections are designed keeping in mind different clientele and occasions. On her website you will find pieces made keeping in mind office goers or college students, as well as collections that cater to festive wear and celebrations. She also has interesting names for different collections, such as Prem, Zen, Terra, and Bahaar. The products range from ₹7,500 to ₹18,000.

What sets this Woman-led Brand apart

While launching Naseebo, Shipra felt that there was a gap in the market as many women struggled to find traditional Indian clothing that was versatile, elegant, and comfortable. Her personal experiences and observations, including her time interacting with parents and colleagues at school, made her realize the importance of offering timeless, well-crafted attire that could fit diverse occasions.

With this in mind, Shipra focused on creating high-quality, timeless pieces. Her approach is hands-on, ensuring that every fabric, print, and design met the highest standards. Her hand-picked fabrics are high on wearability quotient and not on fast fashion. All this helps ensure that bring a timeless quality to her clothes, so that her customers enjoy wearing them multiple times in different ways.

What Challenges has this Woman Entrepreneur Overcame in Building her New Business

Like many entrepreneurs, Shipra faced numerous challenges. Being a single founder of a new business, finance, sales and logistic issues were big concerns for her. Managing costs while ensuring quality was a delicate balance, especially in the early stages of her business. Getting collections ready on time and managing logistics were also some key hurdles she faced. Lastly was the challenge of creating brand visibility and reaching the right target audience.

With experience and careful planning, she gradually overcame these challenges. She kept her expenses low, worked with a small team, minimized wastage, and made consistent efforts in marketing and self-promotion. She began promoting NASEEBO through exhibitions and online platforms, connecting directly with customers and building relationships. She slowly grew her brand's presence by emphasizing customer satisfaction and word-of-mouth recommendations.

What is Shipra’s Vision and her message for other Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Shipra’s future vision for NASEEBO is ambitious. She plans to open flagship stores in Delhi NCR, aiming to bring her brand closer to customers and expand into the retail sector. Her ultimate goal is to position NASEEBO as a global name that represents Indian heritage and modern elegance.

Shipra believes in the power of taking small steps and staying consistent. She advises women entrepreneurs to take just the start, even if it is a small start, and follow their hearts, even if they feel uncertain or unprepared.

With NASEEBO, Shipra Narang took her first small step and started on her entrepreneurial journey of not just creating beautiful clothing but also following her passion for preserving Indian textiles. Explore NASEEBO’s collections through Shipra Narang’s profile on Women Listed.
